The project was to construct a facility to be used by two major hospital facilities and the University in partnership for bio-medical research. The laboratory space was to be designed in flexible modules, which could be modified when the researcher using each laboratory was determined. Spaces for frequent interaction between researchers was included in the program. The overall building design was to complete massing criteria established in two adjacent existing University buildings. Masterplanning for a future component, which doubled the size of the laboratory space, was within the scope of services.
